Extension Highlights
My Extension mission is to engage, excite, and empower adults to prioritize their health, one behavior change at a time.
These projects are designed to meet the needs of underserved audiences.

Older Adult General Health and Wellness
This program was originally created to address the nutritional needs of community residing Iowans. Seeing a need for a more holistic program, financial health and care giving sessions were developed by a colleague. It's now offered in Iowa and Louisiana.
Food Insecurity
One in four older adults are at nutritional risk. This risk could be reduced if they had access to healthy food. Unfortunately, about 60% of older adults are eligible for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) but don't sign up because of the stigma. WIN is designed to better inform older adults how SNAP can help them be healthy and remain independent.

General Health and Wellness
I co-created the WOW newsletter and developed its Spanish counterpart, Su Salud Primero, to provide adults with research-based information that can help them and their families make informed decisions about nutrition, general health, food safety, physical activity and food security.
